Wonderful Wednesday with Exploring Cricut

I've got a cute project today-perfect for a new mom, or to include in a baby shower gift.

The cartridges are Wall Decor & More for the onesies and  Beyond Birthdays for the sentiment. These are  Shadow box cards.

My shadow box card starts with a panel that is smaller than the front of the card. My card base measures 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches, so I made a panel that will allow a border around it when placed on the front of my card.  I made a 3 3/4 x 5-inch panel.

Punch out a shape for the window using a circle or square punch, or a die. Make sure the resulting window is large enough for whatever element you want in the opening. You need leave enough space around the opening so that you can add foam adhesive to attach it to the front of your card. The dimensional adhesive is what creates the shadow box effect. For my card, I used a large square punch, punching the square more than once to make a rectangular window.

Add a background pattern paper behind the shadow box panel by cutting it the same size or slightly smaller than the panel. Adhere the pattern paper panel to the front of your card and then adhere the shadow box panel to the front of the card with dimensional adhesive. Finally, add onesie to the opening in the shadow box opening and embellish the rest of the card to your liking. I liked the sentiments from Beyond Birthdays, so I cut them with coordinating paper and adhered to card with a text box.

And now to announce the winner of my blog candy from the Exploring Cricut Christmas in July Blog Hop- Pam from scrap-n-sewgranny.blogspot.com! Contact me with your info so I can mail it out to you!

I had never tried making anything out of wire-so I just used my paper piercer as a jig and made my own hangers. I'm very pleased at how they turned out.

I'm also entering at the following challenges:
Die Cuttin Divas Twice as nice challenge
