Winter Forest Scene

Our sponsor for November is Kat Scrappiness and the Divas thought Slimline and Mini Slimline cards were perfect to make your holiday cards, no matter the content.

Kat Scrappiness is offering a prize of a Kat Scrappiness Gift Pack valued at least $25.

The standard size of a slimline card is typically 3.5" X 8.5" (8.89 X 21.59 cm).  The card base for a mini slimline card is typically 3" X 6".   These are approximate sizes and we won't be checking to see if your card meets the exact standard for either size.

Here is my project-

On this card I used the Forest for the Trees Die and the deer from Crafter's Essentials Winter Dies, both by Kat Scrappiness. The sentiment is from an older Just Rite stamp set called Antique Christmas Tags. The background is made with watercolor paper sprinkled with Brusho's. I think it gave a really pretty effect.

Thanks for joining me, and make sure to enter our challenge for a chance at that great prize!

Watercolored background

Spending time with Altenew is always a pleasure!

Die Cut Divas theme for the month of August is "watercolor real or faux".

"Watercolor real or faux" includes splattering of water on distress inked panels, application of a water spritzed stencil to pull up distress inks from a distress inked panel and smooshed backgrounds, so there's lots of techniques you can go with for watercolor real or faux. We'll leave it up to you.

Here is my project-

I like making watercolor backgrounds-water coloring images, not so much. So, here is a background I did with Brushos, and overlaid the Altenew die over it! Easy peasy!

Stamps: sentiment (Dotted Diamonds-Altenew), Versafine Onyx ink.
Paper: background water colored with Brushos, Neenah Solar White cs.

I love teal, and I used some of my hoarded favorite color for this card. This die set makes it so easy to have a stunning card in no time at all. This is going to a male cancer patient, so I didn't add bling to it-but wouldn't some gems be great on this card?

Here is a materials list for this card-

  2. Sentiment: Easy Expressions stamp, die (The Ton).
  3. Papers: light, medium, dark teal cardstock. Neenah Solar white card base.
