Wine and the Holidays

Art Impressions has some wonderful products and the Divas are ready to hopefully inspire and delight you with their projects.

Art Impressions is giving a $25 gift card to the

 Winner of the May challenge.

The challenge is to make your creation look like it is water colored.  You can use water colors, distress  and distress oxides or whatever you want to get the water color look we want to see.

Here is my project-

I really struggle with water coloring images-I don't like it, I don't enjoy it. Now backgrounds I can do! So I water colored this paper with Altenew 24 pan colors, and then embossed it with an older embossing folder from Anna Griffin (Holly Damask). The image is an Art Impressions stamp called "Christmas Cheer" (which is retired). The sentiment is from the My Favorite Things stamp set "Sassy Pants Holiday" and the die is Spellbinders Fancy Tags 2.
You gotta enter for a chance to win!

The Challenge for this month is Flowers.

Here is my project-

I loved working with this die set-nice large flowers, excellent directions for assembly! I used scraps for every bit of the flowers. Some of the paper was lightly patterned, which added some interest. What is really nice is I could have made this with any sentiment, such as wedding, sympathy, birthday, etc. Here is a list of materials I used-
  1. Dies: flowers (Peruvian Lily by Altenew).
  2. Betterpress: sentiment (Always & Forever by Spellbinders).
  3. Other: all paper is scraps from my stash.

Here is my project-

I just had to buy the Turkey Day stamp set & dies from Sunny Studios-I didn't have a turkey stamp anywhere in my collection! If I get started now I might be done by September. I colored the turkey and accessories with Copics, and used the Lawn Fawn Meadow Backdrop and Impression Obsession Clouds dies for my scene.

Blue Mariposas

Hello Hero Arts, always a force
in the stamping, die-cutting community!

What challenge do we have for you today?

We're making Shaker Cards, so let's shake it up!
Remember to limit your entries to 4.

Here is my project-

We have a lovely lady in our water aerobics class who loves butterflies, and the color blue. So I made this shaker card for her! I stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts, then arranged the butterfly dies. Die cut, then stamped the card through the die cuts with the first layer of the butterfly. Finished stamping the butterflies with the extra layers, then used the foam tape, beads, and added the birthday sentiment.

Here is the material list-

  1. Dies: Layered Butterflies (Hero Arts-retired, but this would work beautifully!).
  2. Stamps: Thinking of you (Hero Arts-retired, but available here), "on your birthday" (Blessings Stamp & Cut by Hero Arts)
  3. Inks: Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers (Distress Oxides), Versafine Black Onyx ink,
What would you get if you won that prize?

and the gold splatters-

Really, a very simple card. The Whimsy Stamps "Hey, Ostrich" were colored with Copics, and arranged on an ink blended background. I used the Distress Oxides Antique Linen, Bundled Sage, and Stormy Sky, then splattered the Cloud Nine/Lisa Horton Gold Interference ink on it. The sentiment is from The Rabbit Hole called Sassy Sentiments. I love some good sass!
