Birthday girl with her Dog

I think Bugaboo digital images would make anyone smile and especially on their birthday.  That's what Die Cut Divas' challenge is all about this month.

The theme is BIRTHDAYS
Winner will receive a $12 gift code to shop the store.

Here is my project-

I have used this image numerous times, and it's so darn cute for a birthday girl! The color combos are endless!

I used the Altenew Spring Shower die to emboss the background, and then cut the same die out of white to add  flowers and leaves to the background. I used the same Copic markers to color the leaves and flowers to give a bit of continuity to the card.

Here is a materials list for this card-
  1. Image: Puppy Girl (Bugaboo Stamps), colored with Copics.
  2. Die: Spring Shower Cover Die (Altenew), banner from Bouqet Accessories (Hero Arts).
  3. Stamp: sentiment from Sending Love Mail (Hero Arts), Versafine Onyx Ink.
  4. Paper: white cardstock, Light and dark pink paper (scrap stash).

This month, it's all about making those slimline cards.

Winner will receive a $15 gift card from Sunny Studio Stamps

Join us in our merry use of stamps and dies from Sunny Studio Stamps, our fabulous sponsor for March. Note you can use any stamps and dies you have.

Here is my project-

I was very impressed at how easy these flowers were to layer. I used Distress Oxide inks, so had to dry each layer very well to prevent mixing of color, but I like the result. Mixed Black Soot and shimmer spray to add the splatters.

Here is what I made this card with:

  1. Dies: Slimline Scalloped die (Sunny Studios), camellias (Captivating Camellias-Sunny Studio).
  2. Stamps: camellias, sentiment (Captivating Camellias-Sunny Studio).
  3. Inks: Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry, Candied Apple (Camellias), Pumice Stone, Hickory Smoke, Black Soot (Leaves) (Tim Holtz Distress Oxides).
  4. Paper: black, light gray, white (everything is out of my scrap folders).

Hero Arts and Fun Folds

Here at Die Cut Divas Hero Arts is our wonderful sponsor for February! It's going to be a FUN FOLD challenge with one of your favorite stamp companies for the month of February!

I'm so excited about the prize too - a $25 gift certificate to the winner!

Here is my project-

To be truthful, I had made two previous attempts at a card. This card I liked way better than the first two! This is a twisted Circular Circle Easel Card (there are many tutorials for this), one that can be used for many occasions. To make the stopper I scanned the nasturtium stamp and reduced it down to 75% of the original. Colored the flower I wanted with Prismacolor pencils (my computer ink and Copics do not mix) and fussy cut an image to make the stopper.

Here are the materials I used for this card-

  1. Image: Nasturtium (Hero Arts), colored with Copics. Stopper colored with Prismacolors.
  2. Dies: Nasturtium die (Hero Arts), Heart Circles, Big Scalloped Circles (Spellbinders).
  3. Sentiment: Easy Expressions stamp set, Easy Expressions Die (The Ton).
  4. Paper: all from my stash and unknown.
  5. Other: Sakura Gelly Roll pen-Stardust, Zing gold embossing powder.

Be sure to make a fun fold card for a chance at that $25 gift certificate to Hero Arts!

Just a little hint-check out Tuesday Mornings occasionally. They have dies for very little money-I think I paid 99 cents for this Darice Scroll Frame Die! This pink daisy is from Rachel Vass, and is from the Sunshine Daisies collection. I've had this pink daisy
paper for a long time, but couldn't tell you who made it. When I need a card I'll put an appropriate sentiment with it, such as Happy Birthday, Mother's Day, Thinking of you, etc. Having cards done w/o a sentiment has saved me many times from certain disaster!
